Want to help Democrats win in 2010?

Fired up and ready to go for this years campaign but not sure what you can do to help?

Interning for the Michigan Democratic Party is a great way to learn about state politics and the campaign processes that drive Democratic candidates into office. At the Michigan Democratic Party we are always looking for interns to contribute their time, hard work, and creative thought to a very competitive political climate. The program is designed to give a well-rounded experience, including substantial responsibilities in working with top Democratic staffers in Michigan.

This is it.

We’re halfway into the second month of this year, and it bears repeating: This is it. Everything we as young democrats, as young voters, and motivated progressives worked for in 2008 is on the line. We have an unprecedented opportunity to ensure that progressive majorities endure in our chambers of government, and we cannot let it go to waste. Volunteer, donate, and do what you can.

Don’t look back on November 3, 2010 and think to yourself, “If only, I would have done one more thing…”

Give The Gift of Truth This Holiday Season

With a nod of the head to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee, we wanted to pass along a very handy crib sheet of responses they’ve provided for the the Republican lies and distortions that may have accidentally been perceived as the truth by your Parents, Grandparents, Aunts or Uncles.

MDP Leadership to Vote on Lowering Membership Age

At it’s State Central Committee meeting this weekend in Benton Harbor, the Michigan Democratic Party will be voting on a proposed change to its bylaws that will allow 16 to 18 year old individuals to become state party members.

By doing so we hope to capitalize on the successes Democrats had in organizing and mobilizing the youth vote in 2008, and support a more inclusive view of the youth political perspective in our state party.

To commemorate this event, we hope to inaugurate a special group of twenty-five young Democrats into the Michigan Democratic Party at our meeting.
