The Michigan Democratic Party Youth Caucus believes that leadership transcends issues and that it is not acceptable to just “check the boxes.”  We believe that our leaders must be a strong voice for the issues we care about, that we as Young people deem important, and stand up for them whether or not they are popular.

We’ve highlighted the areas of Education (including issues of funding, access, safety, and improvement), Health Care Reform (ensuring access to safe, quality, and effective care for every single person), and Voting Rights (increased ballot access, no-reason absentee voting, pre-registration, and early voting) as issue centers important to us. It goes without saying that many other areas are of key importance, such as Clean Energy, Fairness and Equality for All, the Environment, and our Economy.
