Endorsement Questionnaire

Our endorsement process is on a rolling basis. Interested candidates for public office should fill out this questionnaire and return it via email to Kevin Hrit, our Political Director. We are working on making a web version of this as well, which we’ll then call and verify the submission of with the campaign of the candidate.

Endorsements Policy

The Michigan Democratic Party’s Youth Caucus is charged with being the body representing, protecting, and supporting the ideals and ideas of progressives and all citizens of the State of Michigan between the ages of 18 and 35. As such, it is in the best interest of our caucus and those who we are charged with representing to endorse candidates in elections (partisan or otherwise) who we deem will uphold and support these same ideas and ideals, irrespective of the number and lack of immediate party designation (in the case of non-partisan municipal elections) of candidates involved in these elections.

In these situations, in the interest of fairness, the MDP Youth Caucus will, and has made every best effort to inform and include the other candidates in the race of our process of endorsement, but shall not hesitate from endorsing certain candidates that the Youth Caucus may deem appropriate for lack of response or disinterest by other candidates in those races.
